Figure 15. Percentage of adults sampled at various times during their return migration to the Lower Columbia River that had emigrated as yearling smolts. Age at smoltification was estimated by analysis of scales removed from returning adults sampled weekly in the fishery or at the Bonneville Dam ladder. Samples were taken form different locations during different time periods: 1920, 1960-1963, 1990-1993 (Rich 1925; Young and Robinson 1974; Fryer and Schwartzberg 1991a,1991b, 1992, 1993, 1994; Fryer et al. 1992).
