The Mathematical Biology and System Monitoring group develops software and data products for ecological risk assessment and monitoring. We have also developed open-source web tools to facilitate virtual collaboration. These products can be downloaded here.

Software

  • Extinction risk estimation

Matlab and S-plus code for applying the Dennis-Holmes diffusion approximation methods for extinction risk estimation are available with Holmes (2004) (link to paper) on the ESA Archives (link to data).

Data

  • Salmon time series used in McClure et al. (2003)

The paper is available here (link to paper). The raw data are available on the ESA Archives (link to data). This is spawner count and age-structure data on endangered and threatened salmonids in the Columbia River Basin. 1980-2000 time series.

  • Salmon time series used in Holmes and Fagan (2002)

The paper is available here (link to paper). The raw data are available on the ESA Archives (link to data). This data consists of spawner count data on salmonids throughout the West Coast. Includes 20 to 50+ year time series.
