Rougheye Rockfish Many rockfish live hundreds of years. Rougheye rockfish are known to live over 200 years, making them the longest-lived fish on earth.
Tiger Rockfish There are 102 species of rockfish worldwide and 65 species off the Pacific Coast.
Copper Rockfish Rockfish are viviparous, meaning they give birth to live-young.
Black Rockfish A study on black rockfish has shown that older females have greater success in producing viable offspring from fertilized eggs.
Yellowtail Rockfish Some rockfish species such as yellowtail appear to have a well-developed homing ability. In one study, yellowtail rockfish that were captured and then released 14 miles away, later returned back to their capture site.
Yelloweye Rockfish Have you ever eaten rockfish? If you've ever ordered Rock Cod or Pacific Red Snapper off a menu than you probably have! Rock Cod and Pacific Red Snapper are the market names for over 70 species of rockfish.
