Background
Bob Emmett started working for NOAA Fisheries in 1977 conducting habitat surveys in Northwest estuaries and the ocean. Bob earned a B.S. from University of Massachusetts, an M.S. from the University of Oregon and a Ph.D. from Oregon State University.

Current Research
Bob currently researches Northwest estuaries and coastal marine waters. His primary focus is on the bio/physical factors that influence marine/estuarine survival of juvenile salmonids and the abundance and distribution of small coastal pelagic fishes. He also investigates the links between the distribution of and abundance of coastal pelagic forage fishes (anchovy and sardine), large predator fishes (hake and mackerel), and salmonid marine survival.
