Ben Sandford has worked as a mathematical statistician for more than 28 years. He joined NWFSC in 1988. Ben received a B.S. in mathematics from Central Washington University and an M.S. in statistics from Oregon State University.
As a mathematical statistician, Ben provides statistical support for a number of FE projects including juvenile survival studies, Idaho wild chinook salmon migration study, fall Chinook salmon at Lower Granite Dam and avian-PIT tag recovery. He provides help with experimental design, determines required sample sizes, summarizes data from large databases, and conducts statistical tests on results.
