To simulate reservoir conditions, a test tank holding 17,624gal was built. Made of three cylindrical 10–ft × 10–ft steel sections bolted together, it is equipped with 18 observation ports and numerous fittings that permit water sampling, treatment, and temperature control. Observations have been made on juvenile salmon in water supersaturated with nitrogen.
