Abstract:

The Washington and Oregon Charter Vessel Survey was administered in 2014 by the Northwest Fisheries Science Center (NWFSC).  The survey collected data that can be used to construct key economic performance measures related to the profitability, productivity, and economic impacts of the fishery.  We use this technical memorandum to describe the methodology used to administer the survey, in addition to describing some of the basic findings, including costs by type, revenue earned, business practices, economic prospects in the future, and challenges facing the industry
