Since January 1974, 393 winter samples were analyzed for gas content. The highest nitrogen level recorded in the river near Prescott, Oregon was 137% near mid-channel on 25 June 1974, while the 10-d average was 127.8%. The N2 levels recorded during 1973 were considerably less than those reported for previous years. The 1972 and 1974 levels are comparable, and both were associated with 1 in 40-year water flows.
Average values are reported here. All data collected from this sampling program were tabulated and sent periodically to the Corps of Engineers, North Pacific Division. These data are stored in the Corps of Engineers' ADP system and therefore, are not included in this report.
