The influence of specific electrical characteristics on the electrotactic response of salmon fingerlings exposed to pulsating direct current was measured. Results showed significant differences in the effects of different pulse shapes, pulse frequencies, pulse durations, and voltage gradients with a high degree of interaction between the four variables. Data were also obtained on the influence of other variables such as water resistance, water temperature, and fish length.
