This report summarizes research conducted by Battelle-Northwest (Battelle Memorial Institute/Pacific Northwest Laboratory) for the U.S. Bureau of Commercial Fisheries, Seattle Biological Laboratory, under Contract Number 12-17-0001-1785 during the period 3 January through 28 November 1968. Experiments were conducted in July 1968 in the Aquatic Biology facility of the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission (AEC), Richland, Washington, as provided in Contract AT(45-l)-1831 between Battelle Northwest and the AEC. The work was under the direction of Dr. C. C. Coutant. The experiments were carried out by Mr. R. G. Genoway. Additional technical assistance was provided by Mr. E. G. Tangen and Mr. C. O'Malley. Chinook salmon were provided by Mr. W. J. Ebel, U.S. Bureau of Commercial Fisheries. Dissolved nitrogen analyses were carried out under the direction of Dr. B. W. Mercer.
