Project Description

We have developed Bayesian software for analyzing delta-GLM models of fisheries catch data. This software was primarily developed for the analysis of NOAA trawl survey data on the West Coast, but is easily extendable to other species, ecosystems, and data types. The software is general in that it allows users to specify strata boundaries, include covariates (environmental or vessel ID), and specify offset terms. Posterior probability distributions are then generated for the strata and year estimates, and the software generates annual indices (with uncertainty estimates) to be used in stock assessments. Software is open source and hosted on R-Forge.
