Sediment transport characteristics of simulated fecal and fish materials

Removal of uneaten feed and fecal solids are important in the design and operation of intensive production systems. Rapid removal of solids from the rearing tank depends on the rotational velocities in the rearing tanks and the size/density of the solid particles. A better understanding of the impacts of water inlet and outlet structures on sediment transport is needed to improve solids removal in intensive production systems.
