Characterizing the interactions of microbes and toxins and their effects on animals and food web

Whether pathogenic or commensal, microbes have effects on animals and food webs. Microbial pathogens and their toxins directly influence individual animal health through acute and chronic effects and populations of animals through trophic transfer and by horizontal and vertical infection. Commensal microbes can influence animal metabolism and physiology.
