Modeling Microbial and Toxin Dynamics and Ecological Forecasting

Mathematical and conceptual models can be developed for multiple purposes. Data collected in surveys and experiments can be incorporated into descriptive and predictive models. The appearance of specific microbes or toxins may depend on oceanographic and weather conditions as well as other microbial species. As our understanding of the factors that regulate microbial abundance advances, forecasting models are constructed and refined.
