We study the migrations of anadromous fish such as salmon, lamprey, and sturgeon. We evaluate the effects on these fish from the diverse environmental conditions and habitats they experience throughout their life cycles. 

Our Research

  • Provides solutions for the passage of Pacific lamprey through dams.
  • Conducts studies at the adult salmonid trapping facility at the federal Lower Granite Dam in Washington.
  • Uses telemetry to study individual fish behaviors.
  • Explores the dynamics of forage fish populations in the Salish Sea.
  • Produces survival estimates for the passage of juvenile salmonids through the Snake and Columbia River dams and reservoirs.
